Create Sustainable Funding for the Future: We are currently watching similar organizations in nearby communities close. We must plan for a sustainable future using philanthropic support. Our team is incredibly creative at stretching every dollar, but we are operating in an increasingly precarious landscape. As we look to a future of looming budget cuts and increased expenses, we must create new sustainable funding sources to support our mission. Your support will help us establish a reliable endowment and build the safety net we need for a steady future.
Increase Our Financial Independence: With more than 50% of our revenue tied to state and federal sources, Medicaid funding eroding every year, and our team members being part of the population most at risk for cuts from these funding sources, our dependence on these unpredictable streams is a significant risk. At the same time, costs for vital services like transportation are increasing and we must also plan for increased wages so we can attract, retain, and support our exceptional GTI staff members. You can help us address these challenges and increase our financial independence so we can continue to serve our team members in the most helpful ways.
Launch Community Projects: At the heart of our mission is the belief that everyone deserves to belong. Your support will help us create new opportunities for our team members to build meaningful relationships and live as valued, active neighbors in the community we all share. Projects include:
An Expanded Art Program
Costs related to going to a movie as a group outing or our museum membership
The building and of Community Gardens and Greenhouses to connect with clients and the community
Plan for Infrastructure Repairs and Maintenance: To ensure the future of GTI, we anticipate several equipment and facility updates in the near future. These include:
Building a carport for our new electric van in Mancelona
Refreshing the sports area at our Mancelona facility
Upgrading the awning in Traverse City
HVAC system updates
Roof Repairs at our Traverse City facility
Replace our aging box truck
Purchasing software and technology upgrades in both facilities to increase our efficiencies in everything from case management to human resources and accounting.
